Re: Talking about characters you irrationally hate

Yeah, my fandom is generally really civil about dislike and even about characters I love, I like to get other perspectives, because NOTHING appeals to me more than 3D characters. I find that when I love a character a lot, it can be harder for me to see their flaws, when people who really don't care for the same character can see a lot more flaws and a lot easier than I can.

HOWEVER. My fandom is also full of woefully underdeveloped characters with very little canon backing up their own history or personalities, so...most of us are bullshitting. It's nice to have opinions of others because even the characters we adore have to have flaws, right?

But I can definitely see why you wouldn't wanna talk to other people about it, because yeah, most people cannot STAND the thought of someone not liking their favorite character/pairing/food. :P

(You should see how many people get mad at me for not liking pasta.)

I would ONLY EVER suggest discussing characters you don't like with people who are actually genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say. Sadly that means you'll only get to share your hardwork thoughts with like 1% of fandom. :/
