Anywho, the word on the street is that the word of god is kinda not that great tbh. It's not very dissuasive. That's like saying, "Even Stephenie Meyer thinks the hatedom for her books is silly!"

(Anonymous) 2012-07-15 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)I see the hate as way too excessive and goes beyond what being a little messy with a relationship actually equates to.
As far as the creators go, they were defended very vehemently after the season 3 finale/Fake Book Air trailer (The one poking fun at Zutara) and a lot of these fans who so rabidly defended them now are decrying them/calling them bad writers/Calling them morons, etc.
I find it all way too irrational and crazy. And if you hate the series so much, and can find barely nothing good about then, then, well. Don't watch it. That simple. Bryke isn't going to change their show for the fans, they've stated that many times before.

What I meant is that it's not considered a loss for haters if they know they unintentionally converted you into a fan.
I agree about the excessive hate actually. I find things like the video I posted above amusing, but it does get tired to hear rant after rant after augh. It's as boring as the number of reduxes for the series imo.
Meh. I don't pay attention to a fan's history of what they defended or what they don't or whatever, so I don't know what to say about that. However I don't think any creator, writer, whoever is above criticism, and that there's nothing wrong with treating two different works differently.
Hyperbole. It could be that despite the failings (subjective), the show was still legitimately enjoyable. Heck it was loved enough by their target audience anyways to get a few more seasons, so they're technically still satisfying fans.

I have a lot of criticisms of the show, and I'm pretty sure the vast majority of what I have to say in discussions about it is negative. However, I did actually enjoy the show overall, looked forward to it each week, etc etc. There was just a bunch of things that were frustrating to me once I started thinking about stuff after each episode ended and the eee-watching-the-show excitement faded. Plus, I just plain don't see much value in having discussions that are big circle-jerks of "This is awesome!" "I agree, that was cool!" "I also think that was cool." There's a lot more fascinating conversational "meat" to analysing flaws than strengths imo (and if I really hate something entirely, I stop watching it and don't go looking for discussions about it). I presume I'm not alone in that feeling.
tl;dr just saying that negative critique doesn't necessarily mean hatred, however strongly and wackily people word their complaints.
