Loki turns into a woman in canon (just do a Google Image search for 'Lady Loki', and he's been pregnant at least twice in the mythology. Hel, he doesn't just genderbend-- he speciesbends. What else does "and turned into a mare, and led [the builder's] horse away" mean?
