Little OT but I've actually had someone call me a "grammer natzi" unironically. I also had to explain what a Nazi was to someone. So whenever I see someone use that word as a casual insult I automatically assume they have no idea what they're talking about, ever.

So do I. Too much of my family died in those fucking camps for me to ever think that word should be applied to me, especially for something so fucking trivial. That's not a word we throw around like rice at a wedding, that's a real word, that meant something. That shit ain't funny, and it especially doesn't apply to this bullshit.

Wow, I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. A lot of people seem to forget that this was an actual event in history and that it still affects people's lives today. I'd like to say it's mostly ignorance but a couple of times I've run across people who will defend using that word and it's just exhausting.

People have called me that word and dealt with a whole storm of fury because fuck them, seriously. Don't ever call me that. Don't ever fucking call me that, not when my great-grandmother couldn't so much as watch a WWII movie because the sight of those uniforms gave her flashbacks. That is not "just a word", that was something that happened to people.

"Exhausting", fuck, I will beat someone down. No. Just no. That is not an insult for someone who thinks proper grammar should be used. That meant something.

Until they invent an app for smacking sense into someone I really don't know what else to do. The kind of person who defends that slur isn't the kind of person who can comprehend a well-reasoned argument. If they were they would already know better.
