Oh man I really hope there's a POLICE BRUTALITY WTF MAKO character arc where all the characters get together with a "you're kind of a dick mako, stop it" intervention.

Then he realises what an ass he has been, goes and apologises to the nonbender he terrorised, maybe helps fix his roof or something, apologises to asami and the camera stops treating every bad thing he does as a good thing.

THEN I will tolerate him and approve of his relationship with Korra. REDEMPTION.

Because right now it's too much like Zuko dating Katara in canon for season 1. Before the northern water tribes.
But the camera acted like burning down villages was good.
