"Switch bitch" is someone who answers switchboard calls - people ringing into a main office number to get redirected out to individuals or separate departments.

Officers call to create, update or finalise reports which are the more serious type (like assaults, frauds, that sort of thing) and things not handled in our centre. Also to fix up mistakes and just generally get things done. It's interesting. And also they know what to expect from us and we know what to expect from them.
