I agree, but I found them enjoyable for different reasons. Thor I thought wasn't great as a movie, but it was fun to watch, and fun to see Asgard on screen. I found the asgard-side of the movie to be much more interesting than the human-side, but I think that's mostly because I really didn't like Natalie Portman's character (I don't think she was badly done or anything, she just didn't gel with me). I'd watch it again when in a mood for watching hot guys break things and be badass.

Captain America, I was impressed with the visuals and some of the acting (rare for a superhero movie) but it is very history-centric and not as much capital-F Fun. If WWII action isn't your thing you'll probably be bored, and you do have to love Cap to really enjoy it. If you want more backstory relevant to Avengers, and wanted to meet Howard Stark, then definitely watch it. I'd watch it again when I wanted a superhero movie with an actual story, and didn't feel like seeing Iron Man again.

CA SPOILERS AHEAD

I did have some big problems with the end of Cap - I felt like where we (the viewers) left him at the end of his movie and where we met him in Avengers was a big important gap that we should have seen, and his and Peggy's story wasn't as resolved as I wanted it to be. I wanted at least a mention of whether she was alive or not, and what happened to her, and Steve's reaction. I would have absolutely LOVED a scene between old, I've-lived-an-amazing-wonderful-life Peggy and a newly thawed, bewildered Steve. I also wanted to see more of Steve's acclimation to the 21st century. But maybe that's what Movie II will cover.
