Well, I freely admit that I might be kind of a jerk, but I don't mind concrit, as long as it's actual concrit. English is not my first language, so I don't mind people pointing out grammar errors or characterization issues.

What I have an issue with is when people start going on about things that I cannot see no matter how hard I stand on my head and squint and when asking for clairification I get yelled at as a misogynist or whatever. I write 95% slash PWP, and I've been called misogynist for that. Uh. Sure. OK, whatever. I don't see how I can be misogynist when most of the time I don't even mention the female characters, because they have no place in that particular story. In my gen fics I write about them and have never had complaints. It's only when I write slash I get that. Which is stupid, and frankly, the people making those complaints are halfwits. And that's me putting it politely.

Don't you get it? You are being called misogynist because you should be writing about awesome women instead of icky slash!1!!11!

*sigh*

Honestly, I hate trolls like those. Please keep writing slash and ignore them, because you aren't doing anything wrong.

If you don't put women into your story, then it's because you're a woman-hating misogynist.

If you put women into your story and bad things happen to them, then it's because you're a woman-hating misogynist.

If you put women into your story and only good things happen to them, it's because you think women are inherently weak, can't deal with challenges, and need a man to save them, and it's because you're a woman-hating misogynist.

If you write a female character who is strong, overcomes obstacles, and does it without the help of a man, then you are perpetuating negative stereotypes that women can only do things well if they take on masculine traits, which makes you a woman-hating misogynist.

You can't win. There's NOTHING you can do it avoid this.

THIS. Not only in fandom - it seems like this happens to screenwriters too. No wonder the studios are terrified to put out media featuring female characters.
