Oh, there were two characters on Heroes who could do that! Micah, who was a regular and who could control anything that involved electronics, and Hana.

I THOUGHT I remembered a character like that in some show (never did get that into Hero's but I kept up for a while so I think I remember seeing Micah at lest once - or at lest reading about him on Wikipedia at some point.
