And how do you explain a ton of fanfics with Clint as a ball of manpain from the brainwash aftermath?
The way fandom writes Clint as a weepy uke makes me want to claw my eyes out.

IA, but to be fair I think a big reason Clint's so popular in fandom is because his movieverse personality and history is very blank right now, yet what little we did get from was extremely likable and endearing due to Jeremy Renner's awesomesauce
and ass and arms. That means writers can experiment with his character a lot without people descending on their heads calling "OOC!"no subject
