Katniss and Gale, on the other hand, are described as having olive skin and black hair, so casting them as white is pretty sketch.

Not really, plenty of white people have medium complexions. I'm getting pretty damn sick of hearing this shit from people. Either people of Mediterranean European descent* get to be white, or they don't. MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MIND, WORLD.

* Yes I know I know there are other white people out there with darker skin, they're not all Mediterranean but I'm trying to make a point here

Well Americans can decide for their own people of that descent, but they need to stop telling Spanish and Italian people in Europe what race they are.
