I read a fic where he let her beat him up all the time because he didn't want her to realize how much weaker than him she is and that she'll never be strong enough to actually beat him, because of Kuina's issues with being born a girl or something. That's kinda how I see an actual relationship between them going. It would be such a dark, twisted thing.
