(Anonymous) 2012-07-19 01:44 am (UTC)(link)The farm is mostly pigs with a side of crop turnover. I work with the pigs myself, so don't focus much on the crops (cotton I think? someone else's job).
I got into it through an apprenticeship. The newspaper was talking about the lack of people and how TAFE was offering training and internships a few years back. Now I work there fulltime and plan to make it my career. Maybe get my own farm one day (and you can better believe I'm going to imitate HM and get some chickens and alpacas).
I kind of hope one day HM will have pigs in it now because I'll probably get a ridiculous smile on my face.
