I think the problem is the "weeaboo" concept itself. Yes, there are some childish, unintelligent anime and manga fans. Yes, there are some wanna-be Japanese. However, by othering them as "weeaboo," we're both hating and insulting them AND giving up any chance we may have of helping them to overcome their ignorance and overenthusiastic views or to channel them into doing something positive with their lives by announcing that They Are Not Us and we therefore must avoid them to avoid being "contaminated."
