1. I play a Ringmaster on the Lawolf server, and lemme tell you, I buff people who not-so-subtly hang around me much more freely than the people who say "BUFF PLZ" OVER AND OVER AGAIN. T_T; If you ever see Hyuzle around, though, ask away. :D~
ext_6137: Yoruichi is really hot :D (Default)

2. I don't think I've ever met a fandom friend IRL. Seems kind of scary.

7. I see you don't remember books 1-5 too well XD Seriously though, the best explanation I've seen is that since the fandom is so huge, and since there's been such a long wait between books, pretty much whatever direction she went in would have 1) been predicted; and 2) been hashed over to death, which is why it has a fanfic feel to those of us who are familiar with the fanfic.

17. Yeah, I kind of get that way about 'crack' :/

24. XDDDDDDDDDDDDD Sometimes I'm glad not to be a very visual person /RenRuki shipper

2: It's awesome meeting fandom friends. I've meet several and I love them all. :D The only 'fear' I had was 'I hope they don't think I suck omg'

But maybe that's just me.

#2. I have no comment on this secret, I just want a Village People cake.

1. I'm missing FLYFF now. I did that hanging around thing, too, or ask just once.

6. ...DX Who HASN'T heard of the Joker, at least?

24. ...Makes perfect sense to me.

26. That's so familiar... where's that from?

It's from a wonderful manga called Nodame Cantabile. :)

You can get it here: http://www.onemanga.com/Nodame_Cantabile/

:\ I've been waist-height on every guy I've ever dated. Some people are just short.

Saying that, I still couldn't get into Honey and Clover because of Hagu. It'd be fine if she was just small...but she acted so young that it squicked me right out of the show. It really depends on how it's handled. Rukia pairings don't bug me because even though she is short and small-breasted, she doesn't act like an 8 year old with a learning disability.

Re: 24

[identity profile] jazz-glass.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
IAWTC so hard. I like Hagu...but it was just too much for me. If she had acted like the age they gave her, it would've been fine. But not only did she look like a third grader, she acted and dressed like one too.

5. I hate people who think they're superior and have more right to be fans of anime/slash/furs/etc because they're Japanese/gay/furry/etc, and anyone who isn't those things is a poser who deserves ridicule and hate.

17. Well, you're entitled to your feelings, but using said slang doesn't neccessarily make us bad people. :P

23. Word to the first part. As for the second part, I like snotty characters, but I like them when it's made clear their behavior is crap and they're not gonna be applauded and given treats for it. Like Cartman on South Park.

16

[identity profile] iverin.livejournal.com 2007-07-25 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
dsfajhkjfjsf I DON'T GET T/T. No offense to anyone, but after the way he treats her at the beginning of the series, and although he proves himself to just be tragically socially inept... I don't know. I can't even watch the rest of the series to find out what happens because it's just too absurd.

Rui/Tsukushi = YES! And oh my god, are the guys on that show HOT ENOUGH for anyone? My lord. Eyecandy. Tsukushi is cute, too.

Oh, and I don't think he's a total jackass (Tsukasa). I just think he's incredibly STUPID. People in the PoT fandom do the same sort of bad characterization of Atobe, though I think Tsukasa deserves the abuse a tad more than Atobe. *ramble*

I also like that someone on my friend list calls the pairing in Hana-Kimi Rui x Nobuta. But that's way off-topic. Sorry.

Sorry, forgot to say, big heaping helping of WORD to part of this in that I don't want anyone to say I'm "wapanese" or whatever they're calling Caucasian Asia enthusiasts these days. Yes, I occasionally use Japanese--correctly, and when the meaning has no PRECISE equivalent in English, and I HAVE taken classes in the language. Yes, I enjoy anime--because the stories are good and the music is spectacular. Why yes, I like J-pop--because it doesn't sound like Western pop, but an evolution and mixture of Europop with rock sensibility and hip-hop flair. And for god's sake, I love Japanese history--because it's just interesting to me after 34875635 years of American history being pounded into my head. Do I think everything about Japan is perfect? No. Do I want to live there and speak the language well? Possibly. Do I want people to shut up and quit calling me bad things because I don't have a cultural superiority complex like MANY Americans? ABSOLUTELY.

I'd also like to know what there people who insult Caucasians and etc. with such terms think of the fact that English is pervasive in Japan, especially in music. Does that make the singers less credible or something? No hypocrisy, please.

/rant that's almost off-topic.

Though, in direct response to the rest of it, none of my Asian friends have ever said anything derogatory about my interests. Go figure.

7 I disagree on two points, really. I didn't dislike 6 (though I did dislike the chest monster xD), and I don't think she's an amazing novelist. I've read better, and I've read worse, and that doesn't keep me from loving the books, but I've just never understood all the worship her writing gets from some people.

8 God, I've got days when I agree with you on that one. I know there's an unhealthy element to enjoying living vicariously through fiction so much, but fiction wouldn't be so popular if we didn't enjoy watching unreal people do things we can't or won't.

#7, the writing is even worse in Book 7. I don't think her writing style was ever phenomonal or anything. It's written as a children's book, which is part of the why for bad writing. It's certainly no excuse to be doing it, but that's how it is.

#26, I don't think it's a stupid reason when you explain it that way. Sometimes we need something outside to remind us how important something is to us. :)

7)...what?

No really I'm not going to argue with you on if HP is good or bad, but to say that childrens stories should have bad writing is just... Stupid and frankly insulting to the people who write for children and the fantastic books written for children.

4. I hear you there. I really miss the old school Phoenix Wright fandom too. I loved it when it was a tiny, quirky fandom full of a few smart, devoted fans. C'est la internet, I guess.

...I can't say I agree with the "I want them to DIIIIIE" position, as I tend to like the super special awesome happy endings, but omg Earthbound ♥ And a movie would rock so hardcore. :3

6: I love that pairing <3 I once saw a shirt at Hot Topic of Harley Quinn holding a toy gun to Joker and him with his arm wrapped around her shoulder, both smiling evilly to one another (or I think that's how the picture was on the shirt; been many years since I saw it) and then on the bottom it said "Rotten Love". I wanted that shirt so bad and now I can't find it anywhere. Harley Quinn is also my favorite character from all the Batman series.

7. I really don't understand how her writing has become 'fanfic cliche-y'. I read some of the epic-fics back when I was still in the fandom. And frankly, when the fifth book came out, it was far better than any of the fifth-year fics, and when the sixth book came out, it was far better than any of the sixth-year fics. I expect the seventh book to be the same, and from what my friends have been telling me it is.

If you think a book series has been holding you back in life, it's not the books' fault.

12. YES. I LOVED Urinetown! I went to see it twice when my university put it on. I noticed so much more the second time XD

Forgive my arrogance in suspecting that's me as the Havoc player (considering those two interact a lot where I play and that's one of the icons I use...), but no, I wouldn't kill you, that made me lol so hard, I think ilu ♥

and I thought Leo-mun had amusing pairing ideas. XDDDD

I don't think I've ever seen anyone pick up Leo before and that on top of the secret- now I'm curious.

You speak the truth!

Everyone says he listens to rap? WTF, where did that come from? I've never seen it used in fic before and I can't imagine anyone thinking Mello would listen to rap. Classical ALL THE WAY. ..actually, go here (http://sutlers.livejournal.com/72513.html). This post says it all.

8. I do like a HEALTHY-ISH BALANCE because I find my brain starts to rot if I get to much fanlife and my soul starts to if I Get too much RL. but I would not mind a few cyborg battles. They can only make things better.

17. I think it probably works both ways =\

21. o/

23. my favorite characters are either jesii or complete assholes, possibly of the psychopathic murdering variety. Characters are characters, and suffering causes conflict and conflict makes for story. In real life being a douche is just. Douchy =\ I think you're safe.

2: Seconding the wanting of cake motion.

6: Joker/Harley Quinn are White-Make-up Love. I think that would make a perfect banner for them. Thanks to contributing to the idea ^.^ (although I don't make banners or color-bars).
