Please allow me to clarify. What I meant is that it may seem like bad writing from an older person's point of view (or for somebody who is used to reading 'adult' books) because of syntactical structure and word choice. It doesn't make it bad writing, but if somebody is used to a certain grade level of reading, it can certainly inhibit ones enjoyment of the work.
