squick? really? I don't think that falls under 'squick' territory. maybe annoys or angers, but squick? i don't see it.

sheesh, first tigger warnings get thrown around for anything that squicks people mildly, and now squick is being thrown around for what annoys people.

what is the world coming to?

oh and for the record, i do believe that tigger warnings are imporant, FOR THINGS THAT ARE ACTUALLY TIGGERING, but not for things like couch cushions for example.

Sheesh, people squick over things like mustaches. Squick doesn't mean triggered. It means they have a visceral "yuck" reaction but aren't making a moral judgement, and who are you to say that they don't feel yuck when they see this. I think the OP is using "squick" absolutely properly here.

God, though, I've heard enough people claiming they are triggered when they are actually squicked for a lifetime, let's not discourage people from actually saying what they are.

What, you mean hair color isn't enough to draw a parallel?

Seriously, forget the relationship disparity, there is absolutely no commonalities with any of these characters personalities. Not that I wouldn't read a fic where Miguel and Tulio as gods, but I'd be very surprised if they resembled Loki and Thor in one.

Was this because of that post I made on the last El Dorado secret? Oops. For what it's worth I don't actually see any comparisons outside of hair color.

If I read your secret right I think it's pretty funny you're okay with incest but not with slashing friends.

Eh, what I'm getting when I read it isn't that they're squicked by slashing friends so much as they are specifically squicked by comparing Tuilo and Miguel with Loki and Thor.

Which I can...kind of understand? Since it does make me picture Miguel and Tulio's relationship [whatever you want to consider it] following the same path and that's just...Do Not Want, personally.

I read it as Thorki being the focus of the secret. Such as "I enjoy Thorki in spite of the incest but once people compared them to Tulio/Miguel I got weirded out," but I think maybe your explanation makes more sense?

I read it as maybe the OP had TRtED as a big childhood thing and imagining shipping it squicked them in the childhood, but perhaps I was projecting. I like this explanation more haha

I honestly can't say what OP actually meant - they were pretty vague. But I've seen a lot pictures/set ups where people have 'replaced' the original character with Miguel and Tulio [for example, there's a picture floating around with them replacing Ezio and Leonardo from Assassin's Creed], that I just assumed that was where they were coming from.

So, I might have been a little biased when I read the secret. ^^;;

It couldn't have been because of that post you made on the last El Dorado secret because this secret and that secret came from the same batch.

I found the comic and was about to post it when I saw you posted it already. I was late to the party anyway so I'm glad you got there first. Great minds think alike? ;)

The strange thing is, when I was a kid I actually sort of saw Tulio and Miguel as brothers. I'm sure if I watched the movie again I'd think differently, though.
