I'll probably get shot for this, but I don't think TLOK is as problematic as people make it out to be. I think a lot of the gripes are subjective, and up to personal preference.

Bryke even commented on the episode commentary bits that they feel the Mako/Korra/Asami triangle was realistic, and that Mako and Asami just couldn't last as a couple. (They also said early on she was going to be an equalist, but they scrapped the idea)

Even if it is subjective, that doesn't mean people can't comment on it or complain about, and their complaints don't make you a bad person for liking it. Like, "Tom Hiddleston is perfect omg all the Loki feels" is pretty subjective, but people will still say it, and it doesn't mean they're trying to make you feel like a bad person for liking Loki.
I don't mean this in a rude way, but I think you need to realize people aren't that worried about what you like.

So? Bryke did not write that triangle well, this is a fact. And it is not realistic either. Melodramatic, maybe. They could've scrapped the whole love triangle altogether because it didn't really contribute anything to the story other than character and plot derailing.

At least I'm glad they scrapped the whole Asami as an Equalist thing that would stink of Avenging Ex-Girlfriend.
