Something totally happened, in Legend-Underworld her mom died in a way that, to a nine year old, would probably have felt like her fault. And then she had to get home somehow, when they'd crashed in the high mountains of Nepal and everyone else was dead.

It wasn't rape. But it definitely forged her, she had to feed herself and keep herself warm and get down the mountains of Nepal without dying or losing any body parts.

I agree. Why IS it always rape? Is it because we're supposed to be defined by our genitals, protecting our virtue is all-important?
