9.) now that you say that, I kinda wish I could get away with something like that. ... Except the 4Kids anime, because that is a fate I wouldn't wish on anyone.
21.) ... lolwtf.

A Rapeficcer Writes...

[identity profile] sevendials.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, I write a lot of rape fic because I like writing it. I have no idea why and part of me is ashamed that I write it so frequently and really wishes I didn't, but I write it anyway.

While I can understand where you're coming from, OP of Secret 8, with regards to finding non-con fanfic, I can't understand for the life of me why it's anyone's problem but your own if noncon in large quantities makes you feel iffy and you won't pace yourself. It's not the ficcer's fault for making the fic available: it's certainly not their fault if they've been certain to include disclaimers. Almost all the non-con ficcers I know are absolutely scrupulous as regards content warnings, and I'm no different.

If you know overdosing on rape fiction makes you feel ill, why keep reading it? It's your responsibility to stop reading. Blaming the author for making it available in the first place is like blaming the guy behind the buffet cart because overeating made you feel bloated and ill.

I have absolutely no idea what your icon is from, but I LOVE it.

[identity profile] haruhara.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I knew that Axel was in the second one only. I just didn't want to play if I would be missing something important in the first one. :u Thanks for clearing that up!

[identity profile] aimaru.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
and I left out a word. =_= lust love* ...but it totally takes away from the effect of the comment now. orz.

Who hates Luke? Why do people hate Luke? DDDDD: He's possibly one of the strongest people in a recent RPG I've played - he makes mistakes, he picks himself, he gets stronger and becomes a better person.

I've not finished playing the game yet, but dude, srsly. He makes such huge changes to himself... WHY would people hate him? D:

... and I totally meant to refer to secret 6 here. Hi, I can read.

[identity profile] haruhara.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, the friends who've played them generally said the same thing. :o Maybe I'll go buy it.

Adell's just hot, :/;;;

Not that I don't like Laharl because I like him and flonne just fine. But I really liked D2's storyline.

They're not. Go back and read it again.

I am! I recognize your screen name, too. Haha, small world!

THREAD JUMPING TO PROMOTE DISGAEA.

They take place in the same universe, but have very little plot relation. A couple characters from 1 make cameos, but as for understanding the plot, you wont miss anything. Plus the gameplay and graphics for game 2 are a lot nicer. And if you really don't want to not know the plot to game 1, you can buy the manga which is super-adorable anyway. /2 cents.

THIS IS EXACTLY MY FEELINGS. ;-; I really want to RP actual characters (i've been doing OCs for the past 5 years), I think i've got a handle on their persona, and yet...@___@; oi.

14.
Oohhh, where's the Rockstar!Axel from~? (I'm sad because now I can't make a char with that name ;-; I liked it back years before KHII came out, but now they're gonna be all "OOO YOU COPIEDDD D:")

Oh man, me too! ;_; I'm only halfway throooooough. Luckily my friends are all nice, but I don't trust the rest of the internet after T-shirt hell spoiled me for Dumbledore biting in in Book 6. (Saddest of all, I still wanted to buy the shirt that ruined it for me cause it was hilarious.)

[identity profile] aimaru.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I play Yoh and Ren there. 8) fufufu

[identity profile] lorei.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my God.

...never mind, then. Go rockstar!Axel! Because one thing Kingdom Hearts was missing? Zombies. Heartless are just not as cool zombies.

Not the secret-poster, but I think I understand where they're coming from. Not necessarily with non-con fic, but in a similar vein... it's always kinda sad when I find a really, really amazing writer who only writes fics that squick me -- not that it's someone else's responsibility to write what I enjoy, but more that I want to read copious amounts of really really awesome writing and can't get through the subject matter. It didn't read to me like she was blaming people for writing rapefic so much as lamenting the fact that she can't enjoy some people's (very well-written) fics.

[identity profile] crackjaw.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
D: You're not pulling through OOC!Chocolove for the sequel? Darn.

1. Jackie Chan Adventures was awesome! Me and my BF used to wake up on weekends and watch it :D Me and him (try to) do the Uncle voice all the time "One mooooore thiiing!"

3. I think it's an age thing. Many (not all) anime fanfic authors are younger than many (not all) Western fandom writers (some slash writers have been around since the advent of Kirk/Spock!), so those older fans who've had more time to hone their craft make the average output quality somewhat higher. I'm also wondering if anime might be a younger-tending type of thing (in general), for myself I know I feel like I've grown out of it, which again would lead to less mature skills if older fans really do move on. Or it could be that as anime fandom in general sticks around and grown in the Western world, it too will have a good population of older writers. Anyway, that's only my theory. No actual facts or testing involved.

8. Heh. Meanies. But still, heh.

12. Hotness is a your-mileage-may-vary kind of thing. I think he's okay (not that that's a very flattering picture. However give me Rupert Grint any day! Did you see his shoulders in movie four? Boy's grown into a nice chunk of man.

13. Aww, write it anyway! You can make sure a few more people know his name. Anyway, I'm sure manifestos have been written on less. You'll just have less of the "canon backing" section and more of the "why fans like this pairing" section. I'm sure the research would be fun!

17. Oh god, my sympathies. I devoured the whole thing in one night (last night, actually, after work until 1:30 am) purely out of self-defense, because it's so damned hard to avoid spoilers. For god's sake, people were discussing them in [livejournal.com profile] ihasatardis (Doctor Who lolmacro lj) and on Televisionwithoutpity.com. Good luck avoiding those spoilers, and I mean that in a totally non-sarcastic way--I hope you can do it!

21. I think I need to google Otakin. Sounds like an interesting phenomenon.

22. The movie was kind of crap, but I enjoy David Wenham no matter what he does, so I think that's a great pairing :D. To me he's always "that guy who survives." Faramir did, that monk did, and the guy he played in 300 did. Oooh. Pardon me while I think about 300 some more.

[identity profile] haruhara.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I must agree. I think its teh tie. :(

[identity profile] aimaru.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
14 - he's from a nippon ichi game called Disgaea 2. XD His japanese name is Akutare, but it's fun to compare video game axels. 8DDDDDDD
