14 at most? Hilbert and Hilda (along with Bianca and Cheren too) seem more like 15-16 at least, after all they were designed to be older than the rest of the protags. So I image that Black and White would be older then most of the Pokespe protags too, except for maybe Red, Green and Blue

14 year olds saving the world is a common trope in Japanese media. These are not meant to be realistic 14 year olds and should not be treated as such to begin with.

Yeah, this. When something is based on a game series where 6-year-olds run around by themselves taming magical murder-creatures you have to kind of adjust your definition of "impressive" as it applies to child characters.

I haven't read this, but a Pokemon trainer not battling and running a business sounds kind of... boring, for a Pokemon character.

I thought she was 16, but secret is still valid. I feel the same way, OP.

(It's just that she comes from a comic where the progs are required to be super badass junior strategists so she kind of pales in comparison.)

People are disappointed because she's the first female protagonist that wasn't super feminine. She seemed a lot more sporty than the other girls. But she's just as feminine as they were.

I think she's a great character. That sort of will and determination gets you places. I like how N proved some things she believed wrong, and I'm really looking forward to the character development she'll go through because of that scene.

Pokespe has a lot of pretty great role models, and she's one of them.
