I'm in the same situation. My solution was to accept that fandom IS my life, and take pleasure in it. It's not like I'd be any happier if I was a hairdresser or a police officer or whatever else counts as a productive member of society. All that would do is mean I'd own more things.

Who supports you? Who pays your bills? Unless you have some kind of trust fund or whatever, you must either be mooching on your family or letting your spouse support you. Good for you that you decided that there's no shame in doing that.

Jesus fucking christ. Did OP piss in your cornflakes or something?

I just think it's pathetic when people decide that they're not responsible for supporting themselves. And when they're proud of it, like the person in this little thread, I really what to know what's going on in their head. And I want them to understand how much they suck.

Where on earth do they say they're proud of it.

Same commenter as before: Sorry, I thought you were referring to the OP.

This sounds incredibly sad more then anything. I can only hope one day you shift your perspective and are able to do so without life crashing hard around you and forcing you to do so.

'own more things'? And experience more things. And meet more real people and learn more about the world around you and the flow of life, and develop more skills and practical knowledge, and have a more secure future, and a whole new set of reasons to be proud of yourself.
