Scenes you just watch over and over
(Anonymous) 2012-07-23 01:18 am (UTC)(link)Or for that matter, re-re-reading a scene from a book/comic?
Re: Scenes you just watch over and over
(Anonymous) 2012-07-23 01:39 am (UTC)(link)Books: All the Derek/Chloe bits in The Reckoning

Like, the scene in MiB were Jay explains why he decided to shoot Little Tiffany. I love that scene. Or, the scene in Idocracy where Joe looks looks at the map Frito made and is like "Damn it, Frito. You moron." Divine's birthday party in Pink Flamingoes. Pretty much anything that really makes me laugh, or things that are so weird and ludicrous that I have to see them again.

I should really buy that movie...
Re: Scenes you just watch over and over
Boba Fett holding his father's helmet in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. IMO, that 2-second scene expresses more emotion that the whole "romance" between Anakin and Padme.
Speaking of, the end of Vader and Luke's confrontation in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
In the Sherlock BBC episode "A Study in Pink", everything from when John comes back from his meeting with Mycroft to the "drugs bust" scene. Is it cheating to count that much as a "scene"?
Luffy beating the ever-loving shit out of Arlong in One Piece. Also, the guys walking to their confrontation with him and his crew. One of my favorite Power Walks EVER.
From Naruto, Naruto defeating Gaara, and telling him he won't let him harm his friends; even as he tells Gaara he understands his situation, and feels sorry for how bad his life is.
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The "Pina Coloda" skit from "Monster A-Go-Go".
Also from MST3k, the dinner skit from "It Conquered the World".
/"This coffee tastes like mud--Roger Mudd."
Re: Scenes you just watch over and over
"Welcome to London," indeed.
I should watch ASiP more. . .that and Reichenbach are tied as my favorites and for some reason I have watched it way less. . .

(Anonymous) 2012-07-23 02:28 am (UTC)(link)Spaceballs:
- "NO, SIR! I DIDN'T SEE YOU PLAYING WITH YOUR DOLLS AGAIN!"
- "My hair! He shot my hair! SON OF A BITCH!" -cocks gun-
- "I knew it, I'm surrounded by assholes... KEEP FIRING, ASSHOLES!"
- And of course, the Michigan J. Frog homage scene in the diner. "CHECK PLEASE!"
Blazing Saddles:
- The scene where the Sheriff holds himself hostage.
- The climactic battle that literally breaks the fourth wall.
- "Nevermind that shit, HERE COMES MONGO!"
Robin Hood: Men in Tights:
- Robin and Little John fighting on the bridge.
- The musical number. "WE'RE MEN, WE'RE MEN IN TIGHTS! WE ROAM AROUND THE FOREST LOOKING FOR FIGHTS!"

Re: Scenes you just watch over and over
- the "is it?! IS IT?!?" Thor/Loki fight scene from Thor
- the Richard/Margaret scenes from "The Emerald City" (Boardwalk Empire episode)
- the "would you fight for me?" scene in "Gimcrack and Bunkum" (also Boardwalk)--see icon
- the pool scene in "The Great Game"

- the "rage and serenity" scene in XMFC
- probably a bunch from Lost that I can't think of atm
and I have the HP audiobooks on my iPod, so I've re-listened to basically all of them 100 times. >____> Fave chapters include "Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs," "Flesh, Blood and Bone," "Snape's Worst Memory," "Christmas on the Closed Ward," "Horcruxes," "The Forest Again" and more. Derp.
Re: Scenes you just watch over and over
Tv Show: That scene in Futurama's "The Late Philip J Fry" where they sit back and watch the universe end. Hits me right in the heart like almost nothing else.
All of series two of Sherlock. Seriously, I'll just go on youtube and get stuck watching mssherlocked's clips all the time. It's really very sad.
I rewatch the domestic bits of Sherlock most, though.
Movies: That scene from Edward Scissorhands. "Hold me" "I can't"
Books: I have reread "The Prince's Tale" and "The Forest Again" and "Malfoy Manor" from HP7 more times than I am comfortable to admit.
I have actually reread all of HP WAY more times than I can even count. Haven't read the series in full though for a long while. Been due for another full reread for a good while, but I can't ever make it the whole way without getting distracted by life. . .don't know how I managed it when I was a kid.
Song & dance numbers that I never get tired of watching:
Without Love (Hairspray)
Poor Unfortunate Souls (The Little Mermaid)
Hellfire (Hunchback)
Defying Gravity (Wicked)
You can be as loud as the hell you want when you're making love (Avenue Q)
The Internet is for Porn (Avenue Q)
My Girlfriend who Lives in Canada (Avenue Q)
Granger Danger (AVPM)
I'll Make a Man out of You (Mulan)
I'm Alive (Next to Normal)
Role of a Lifetime (bare: a pop opera)
I Believe (Spring Awakening)
The Bitch of Living (Spring Awakening)
Coasting (Edges)
The Facebook Song (Edges)
(There are probably tons more, but this is what I can come up with right now)
