lol, I totally want Metal Gear fic where the characters play the Metal Gear games. Mostly I want to hear them get angry about all the 'retcons' which are really just censoring of information about them, and about the Patriot propaganda use of shooting games to prepare us all for SOP...

Why is this any more plagarism that fanfic already is? If you're not getting paid for it and you admit that it's not yours then I don't see any problem with it. Just have fun and write it if you want!

I guess OP thinks that because that kind of fic is basically a MST of a book using its characters and it relies on copying most of the original text.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Usually the original text is in bold or something to separate it. I guess I could do something like "And everyone sat still while Umbridge read out loud about Harry's first Hogwarts letter," but that would be a better way to focus on an outside plot, which....

yeah I've seen something like that before where the characters read lines from the original story and commented on it, and the original story was in a different font or style
