I haven't seen Blink (I KNOW I KNOW), so I beg forgiveness in advance for the potentially really stupid question...

Why couldn't Amy just keep her eyes trained to the ground while finding her way thru the woods?

Without dropping too many spoilers, Amy couldn't open her eyes for even a second, otherwise the angels would kill her.

This isn't Blink--Blink was during the Tenth Doctor's run, when Martha was a companion. Amy is two companions later. This is A Time of Angels two-parter I believe.

SPOILER SPOILER -- She can't keep her eyes open because she looked directly into the Angel's eyes for too long earlier, and now it has become a part of her mind, and it is transforming her into an angel so long as she keeps her eyes open. SPOILER end.

I know this isnt Blink; I was just referring to that ep since it's the first one where the Weeping Angels appear.
