21. "Open-minded" is relative. Your definition of "open-minded" includes incest, others' definitions don't. Your definition of "open-minded" includes "of-age" and... well, someone could accuse you of not being open-minded because "love is love" and hey, if a 15 year old girl loves a 50 year old man why is that illegal? Or someone and their dog? Why do you not support those too? Where you draw your boundaries are up to you.

If you're going to stop people from calling themselves "open-minded" unless they're COMPLETELY open-minded and accept EVERYTHING, then uh, good luck finding anybody that fits that description. Just saying.

19 A day doesn't seem like very long to you, does it? Well, reading one book doesn't seem like that bad of an offense to me. I don't know if you're one of my friends or not, but I don't get all the hating on the people who read it early (presuming they didn't spoil things for others). That's like saying you lose respect for people who read it a few days late, or something. It just sounds absurd to me.

4. Fandom didn't save my life, exactly, but thanks to fandom I found friends who actually gave a damn. My "real life" friends only cared if they weren't sleeping wih someone. So don't be too dismissive.

4 I don't see what's wrong with writing an essay about a ship? There's at least one community for that sort of thing, and they're interesting essays to read. It doesn't seem any weirder to me than writing an essay about a character, or about a portion of a story. And really, if something is a well-presented work of fiction, why not honor it by analyzing it?


(Though, I do find the people who say fandom has saved their lives to be somewhat strange. I always wonder if they mean literally? Were they going to commit suicide, or did it save them from an addiction, or a poor choice? It makes me so curious.)
