To be honest, I don't participate in the Spanish side of the fandoms because they're just so small and the truly good stuff is very, very rare, compared to the thousands of stories and authors in English.

I also winded up writing in English instead of Spanish because I feel too self-conscious writing in Spanish; if I write in English, I can disconnect fic and such from real life and keep it inside my mind as something more hobby-ish.

If I ever get to finish something decent, I'll probably try to translate it to Spanish too, because why not. vov

Yeah, it's a problem to find the same variety, although I think it has improved slightly (not by much, but still)

Interesting. For me is the other way around: I feel too self-conscious if I write in English, as I feel insecure about writing properly, so I stick to writing in Spanish. I've written fics in English, I just don't post them on the internet. Maybe I just need a good beta, who knows...

Yeah, you should do it :). Frankly we need more material in Spanish fandom, and any addition would be good.
