Hey, you're welcome (even though I wasn't able to find it). I actually, kind of wanted to watch it so I'm glad you found it!

Hmm. That next one will difficult to find without something to distinguish it from Harry Potter. Can you think of anything distinct and different from HP that could me search for it?

The only big things are that the protagonist is an adult in his twenties and that there is no school of magic, but other than that, no, sorry.

I suspect that it has to be something low-key/maybe low-budget, because I've searched for "films/books similar to Harry Potter" and none of them sound quite like it.

It doesn't help that it's my mom who watched it and it was only a part of it.

The decade it aired though, is new info for me, so I'm going to start making some heavy Google searches using that.

Tomorrow, I'm going to ask my mom if she remembers anything about the setting, special effects, if any actor seemed familiar, etc.
