Fair enough.

I don't like Irene Adler AS A PERSON. I thought her behavior was completely repulsive, and it has nothing to do with her being a woman... hell, if anything, it would have been worse with the genders flipped.

Imagine a male dominatrix (dominator?) drugging a female protagonist, going through her phone while she's out, and leaving a recording of himself moaning as a ringtone. Would anyone be calling that guy a "refreshingly strong character"?

She didn't just drug him, she also assaulted him. But she's a hot dominatirix, so it's okay, right?

The thing that bugs me is, she's an awful person, but we're clearly meant to like her. Uh, no. That's... that's not gonna happen.

The whole "they're terrible people but we should like them anyway!" thing is basically Moffat's intention for every so-called Strong Female Character he writes. River Song is the same way.
