People write rape fics, they write stalky/controlling characters/relationships, and there are readers out there who eat it up with a spoon. Lots of them. Otherwise Jay Leno wouldn't be making jokes about "50 Shades of Grue" to a national TV audience. OP may not like it, but if it's what her friend wants to write, why does she have the right to dissuade her? What if the secret had been "my friend writes toe-sucking fics; what can I do to convince her that toe-sucking fics are disgusting and everyone is going to make fun of her?" Would the advice to OP still be the same?
Here's what I can't really tell from the secret: does OP think the writing's crap because it's about rapey/stalkerish creepy shit, or are there stylistic problems in addition to that? If it's the first, then that's more the OP's problem than the writer's & she just needs to accept that her friend writes stories she isn't going to like/read. If it's the second, then yeah, her friend needs help. Either way, though, OP isn't the person for the job.
