Did I say that was what the problem is? The problem is that she's saved by Sherlock and takes cues from Moriarty, and they're both men.

I'm not even talking about what is and isn't sexist--I'm talking about how people are determined to prove any female characters Moffat writes as sexist, but for Whedon they assume everyone's nice and well written

I don't think ALL of Moffat's characters are sexist. I adore Mrs. Hudson and Sarah and Molly and Kitty and Sally and I do even really like Irene herself. . .it's just her character arch that's sexist(even though he technically doesn't always write for all of those characters, he still has creative input on them). If another character in another show had the same character arch then they probably would have been told that that character was sexist too.

I can't say much on Whedon; the only stuff of his that I've seen is "Avengers" and "Dr. Horrible".
