yeah they seem douchey and overrated. but I'm also a bit old for hero worshiping olympic athletes... a couple of decades ago i might have loved them, who knows

I am older than most of the swimmers out there anymore but I cannot help it. Olympic Swimming crept into my life back in Sydney 2000 and was an obsession in 2004... now I am just an old and cranky "get off my lawn" grandma-type.

I still hate them though.

I can deal witch Lochte, but I've been hoping for Phelps to suffer a career ending injury since Athens.

I'm cheering for good races and Aussie medalling. I'm also kind of hoping for the Brazilians to get a few medals because that means I'll be surrounded by happy fans when I go to watch the Games in person in four years.

And whenever Lochte opens his mouth I get the urge to throw things at the TV.

There are far more attractive swimmers than the two of them, so I urge you to please keep an eye out.

I'm so sick of them. It's all NBC seems to care about, and even CTV is infected with it now, with all the stupid commercials and replays and hype. I want to watch other events, ffs. I've started watching the Quebec channels because at least they're focusing on different people (almost entirely french canadians, mind).

No, the commentators on NBC almost lost their shit over Mark Cavendish, which made it kind of hilarious when Vinokourov won the road cycling gold.

I wanted to look at other coverage than what I have on TV (I live in Asia) so I downloaded the CTV coverage and I could not believe it! I thought I made a mistake and was watching American coverage because they were only talking about the Americans the whole time!!

I'm Canadian and I had never heard of Lochte until my American friend started talking non-stop about him and Phelps and it's irritating. What I hate most is that the media portrays them as rivals when THEY PLAY FOR THE SAME DAMN COUNTRY.

Also, I heard Lochte give a press conference last night and he was dumb as a post.

I like my country's swimmers, and I get simply furious when *our* commentators start singing praises of Phelps. Dammit! Be partial and play favourites! That's part of your job too.
