F!S Anon Meme (the Seventh, and now on DW!)


Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

Somehow I always think fandom is mostly closer to my age (41),until I come to FS and discover how many kids are in it. I'm always sort of shocked by it.

depending on the specific fandom you could still be right. but FS is often focused on such new things that the fans are probably always going to be younger on average.

what's weird is that I'M starting to become one of the "old ones" (30s) and that's a weird feeling

I think most of us are mid to late 20's just based on the general fandom posted, but maybe I'm only thinking that way because I'm 28?

We did a F!S age poll not too long ago and the average was around 23-25. So, mid twenties is about right.

Ha... there's more of us older folk out here than you think (as my 16 year old sighs and calls me a dork). I'm 37, and a good portion of the fandom people I hang out with are significantly older than I (though the other portion is significantly younger which is weird).

But hey, I'm the cool parent on the block who "gets it"... as I have a pile of 8 teenage boys clamoring to go with me and the kid when we see the new Batman (yes I haven't seen it yet... been working too much to)... Probably because I usually take them all out for pizza afterwords and we rehash the movie.

I'm also 41! I know a bunch of other people around my age on LJ and Dreamwidth. But it looks like everyone on tumblr is really, really young. Some of my relatively younger LJ friends (mid-20s) have started using tumblr and then saying that they feel "old" there!
