[ Anon Meme ]

F!S Anon Meme (the Seventh, and now on DW!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff.

Unpopular Ships
Obligatory Masturbation Thread
Fandoms you wish existed
How old are you?
What series have you always meant to watch/read/play/etc. but have never?
Time and location
Female-centric works
How do you feel about Tumblr?
Pet thread
Guilty pleasure thread
Favorite old shows
First fandom?

If anyone has a copy (or a link to one online) of "Light the Fire Within" from the 2002 Olympics, I'd be so grateful...can't find it anywhere and my fifth grade class sang it in chorus that year and I'd give anything to have it now...

You mean this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW_fGsKw1PM) by LeAnn Rimes? Since it's up on YouTube, all you have to do is rip the mp3 from the video. There's tons of sites that let you do that, Google it.

No, it was by a man, and the lyrics and tune were completely different (believe it or not...there were two songs with the same title written for the same occasion. Not a thing in common other than that. The one you posted is probably the reason why I can't find the other one.)

Same anon says: please help me get this to work!

I found it! But I can't get it to play the song on any browser, whether or not I download the plugin it wants (which I'm sure I already have). Help?

It won't play because Internet Archive did not save the audio file.

Dammit. Well, here's the info page with lyrics, in case anyone knows anywhere else it might be found: http://web.archive.org/web/20020107203045/http://216.23.23.148/torch_relay/fire_within.htm

(I've tried googling them, of course. No luck. Ditto with the writer.)

Looks like you're looking for the theme song of the Cincinnati Olympic Torch Relay Celebration, not the theme song of the Salt Lake Ceremony. I was only able to find an article and Hamilton County document referencing it. I couldn't find any videos or video clips of the Cincinnati Celebration.

I suspect the only recordings of this song are offline - home videos, local news recordings, the school, the CRC, the composer himself. If you want to track down a copy of the song, the school should be a good place to start since you were part of the performance. The school might also have contact info for the writer/composer.
