Some ground rules:

Channel Awesome/That Guy With the Glasses is a terrible conglomerate of ugly, greasy fedora-wearing nerds shrieking into their webcams and I will never understand the appeal.

The only thing worse than the so-called reviewers are the people who write creepy-ass fanfic about them.

I used to follow that site, but it has changed over the last two years since. (Or, maybe I just realized the issues after two years.) Now it's like this wanky in-group. I don't even really think they care all that much for movies anymore. I liked it because it thought it could be a place to talk about cult and B-movies, but the reviewers, and by extension the fanboys/girls are just bashers and wankers with no appreciation for the genre. I liked Brad (The Cinema Snob) before he was on the site because I know he legit appreciates B-movies, but now he's part of the wanky in-group too.

It kind of stings when something you'd been doing for years (watching and reviewing B-movies) gets a large fandom after so many years, but the fandom isn't about the movies at all.

With all respect, I can understand why you don't like them, especially with the more recent incidents of "drama" surrounding Channel Awesome, but I like Channel Awesome.
I don't follow too many of the reviewers (of the reviewers, I only actively look forward to new videos from Nostalgia Critic, Nostalgia Chick, Todd in the Shadows,Cinema Snob and Rap Critic), but I do randomly watch a good number of various producers' stuff from time to time. Like, I never actively watched Angry Joe's videos since I'm not a gamer at all, but every now and then, for whatever reasons, I watch a video or two of his.
I find most of the videos and producers I've watched pretty entertaining, but I guess it's because I was never, and probably will never, be a part of the fandom, as well as the fact that I have only really been watching these videos for about a year or so.

The closest I've come to tasting the awful shit that goes on was when I saw that Spoony left Channel Awesome. It was just, "Really? He seemed to be pretty popular, and he seemed to collaborate a lot with other popular producers on here." So I kind of looked around, and I just began reading all the stuff that went on with the Twitter drama and fans getting involved, and I was like, "Wow, what the hell?"
To me, whatever the reasons for all that to happen, it seemed like a lot of inflated egos letting small shit get to them. I like watching some vids of the majority of the producers who got involved, but I couldn't help feeling like they all were feeding off the drama. It didn't help how the fans were so up in arms about it all and getting all "we're involved with this too~!" when they shouldn't have been. I know, they putting it out in public for all to see, but it got a bit ridiculous. I don't know how that fandom can be so freaking crazy when Channel Awesome is just...nerds raging.

I'm pretty meh about most of the reviewers on the site, but I do like Linkara, the Nostalgia Critic, and sometimes the Nostalgia Chick. You're entitled to your opinion, though.

Same here.

I'm pretty much a Nostalgia Critic and Linkara viewer. Occasionally CR's "Familiar Faces", but only if I'm really bored.
