Some ground rules:

I am in my late 20s but everyone else is still in high school or just turned 18. I feel like the biggest weirdo ever.

It is a fandom that I grew up with and at this point I only like GEN stuff within this fandom, but I still feel like a creeper.

I'm in my mid-20s and a teacher. I write a lot of porn for my fandom, and I get squeeing reviews from minors all the time. It creeps me the fuck out and makes me feel like I'm doing something illegal, but I don't want to quit fandom just because I'm getting older.

We shouldn't feel bad, though.
It isn't our fault.

Also my fandom is 20 years old and I have been there since the beginning so I feel like I should be allowed to stay around.

Been there, done that. If it makes you feel better, eventually it stops feeling quite as creepy, although there's still the whole WHAT ARE YOU DOING READING PORN AT YOUR AGE thing going on in the back of my head. It also helps that my fandom aged over time, so the 14-year-olds then are now 19-year-olds and (a) legal (b) no longer possibly students.

I got into one of my fandoms (with characters mostly in their teens) when I was about 16.

I'm 25 now. Realizing I'm reading porn about characters who I'm legally not supposed to be attracted to is kinda weird.

now that i'm in uni, i can't read high school AUs anymore without finding it rather weird that i'm reading about 14 and 15 year-olds shagging.

my fandom is also a fandom where the new characters keep getting younger and younger, and no older characters are really emerging anymore, so eventually i'm going to be twice as old as all these kids i'm writing about D':

I'm in my thirties, and the result seems to be that I get into fandoms and am then attracted to other characters...in their 30s/40s. As you can imagine, my character preferences are seriously decreasing the number of fans I have to enjoy things with. D:

Come to Supernatural. Our main peeps are in their 30's, 40's, 300's and since-before-time-was-measured's. XD

NGL, this is one of the reasons I love the Avengers/MCU fandom. Most of the characters are *adults*.
