Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

A lot of that might be because so many people change their usernames constantly, as with Tumblr, unlike other sites, you can do it instantly. People also hoard usernames, even though they aren't supposed to according to Tumblr rules. I really hate all of that, because as you say, it's very impersonal. I'm met some awesome people through Tumblr, but I don;t know most of the people I follow.
