Some ground rules:

what position do you sleep in? I sleep on my back, arms spread. Halfway through I switch to freefall - on my stomach with arms spread.

On my side, usually my left.
Sometimes I sleep on my back, but I've woken up with really sore legs or had sleep paralysis so I try to avoid it.

Generally halfway on my side with my legs flat as if I was on my stomach and also completely spread out. I toss and turn a whole lot and usually wake up in a different position than I went to sleep.

I know you are supposed to sleep on your back, but I literally cannot fall asleep like that.

Nah, there is no way you're "supposed" to sleep. Whatever's comfortable for you is how you should sleep. :)

On my belly. Right arm straight down, the left crossed between my boobs because I hate feeling of them touching each other.

I can't fall asleep unless I'm lying on my left side, and I have to face away from any windows. I've switched the end of the bed I put my head on so I could lay on my left side and face away from the window.

And you know how when you put your head down on a table or desk you'll kind of make a circle of your arms and hide your face in that? Every morning when I wake up I find myself doing that with my pillow instead of a desk and I've rolled over onto my stomach.

Same here.

I stay on my back, facing up, because I don't want my complexion to be weird on one side (or all) of my face. I'll deal with bacne whatevers.

IMPORTANT QUESTION

How do people sleep on their side (either side)? No matter how I try to settle in, my arm is always squished in one way or another under my body (the boobs don't help) and falls asleep, or twisting into a painful position.

Same as sleeping face down; my neck starts hurting after a while.

I can fall asleep in any position, but if it's in anything other than face up, I wake up after a few minutes because something fell asleep or started hurting.

On my side i tend to hug a pillow, or sort of half on my side with the bottom arm flung out behind me. I sleep kind of twisted around. Also no pillow under my head, that leaves me with a crick in my neck.

Same as other anon - I only sleep on my side if I can hug something (pillow, pet, partner) so that things like boobs do not get in weird positions.

Does anyone else sleep with the covers over their head? I have my entire life. My mother actually has old baby pictures of me asleep in my crib with my baby blanket pulled up over my head.
