Don't get me wrong, this is not about the fact they ship gay couples. It's the fact that a good portion seem to be 14 years old, batshit insane and refuse to let other shippers be.

Why don't you just go with hating younger fans, then? Both het and gen have the same problems; young, stupid, batshit insane fans are a constant.

Because I agree that while most of the younger shippers are batshit crazy, I've noticed that as they get older, while most het shippers seem to calm down (or at least their insanity slips under the radar) ... many slash shippers just don't?

I often put it down to the fact they feel they need to defend their ship more and don't realize/care when it's getting out of hand.
