A pairing that I was shipping was effectively torpedoed last year, I don't think any of us who shipped it are actively doing so anymore, yet I still occasionally see people making snide comments about it and the people who shipped it.
And I just don't get it. You didn't like it? Fine. But it's quite obviously in the past now, so why are you still bringing it up?

Ehhh owing to the fact that it was an RPF ship and I don't even know a lot of people who shipped it, I'm not entirely comfortable revealing specifics.
I doubt anyone who knows/cares about it is here, but still.

Oh, okay. I understand -- still curious, but I understand.

Anyway, people like that sucks and I'm sorry you have to deal with it. I think you can always see potential and possibility in a pairing, even if (for example) one of them got married or something.

I don't get this mentality even when people do ship non-canon things. Some people can't handle the fact that people ship non-canon ships. And they seem to have a bigger problem with ships that could have been canon or are close to canon than they do with not remotely possible in canon ships.

And the other thing is that these people seem to think that people should somehow have known what would be canon before it actually was canon. They like to mock people who were wrong about what ships would be canon when before those parts of canon happened no one knew for certain what would happen (no matter how many hints were given, they can be interpreted in more than one way).
