Some ground rules:

After giving it a little more thought (and your mentioning of me being picky, which is absolutely true), I think my problem is that yes, he's nerdy, but he doesn't put himself out there as a super-cerebral sort. I can certainly get past the physical characteristics that are not my "type", but the mental differences make me kind of ashamed. My husband's a deep thinker, which I really like. Goofy charisma...is not for me, and I feel dirty for liking it in a person. I prefer my men to be a little aloof but not too shut off. That way, I can earn their respect and get a great mental relationship (even just friendship) in the end. Simon's just not that way, so I feel all sorts of awkward.
