Some ground rules:

I can't read fic of my OTP.

It's out there, and I'd love to read it! But one of the characters is disabled, and people are insensitive as hell about it. It's almost impossible to find fic that doesn't go on at length about how fragile he is, how he shouldn't have sex because the risk of injury is too great, how he could shatter his pelvis through even the most careful sex -

And of course pointing out how disgusting this is gets you jumped on for being a SJW and oversensitive.

And writing fic without these problems gets you jumped on for not understanding how fragile and breakable the character is!

I'm fucking sick of it.

Geez. I knew a kid who had something similar to this when I was growing up, and yeah, he broke his arm easy when he got hit by a baseball or something, but who wouldn't? He could run and jump on a trampoline and all that without someone worrying he'd break a hip.

which fandom? the only couple that comes to mind immediately is Charles/Erik but I haven't seen anyone say things like that about them

there's also Malik, but he's only missing an arm so I don't think anyone would say his pelvis would get shattered...

maybe you're talking about that wheelchair bound troll from Homestuck? Tavros? or something

ugh thats disgusting. I'll never understand why people don't think to do research on the diseases or disorders their characters are supposed to have. I'm sorry anon.

I knew the second I read this that it was talking about Joker. I saw some kink meme requests kind of fetishize his disability until there was such a huge blow up that such prompts stopped (at least as far as I saw). It really is stupid. He can't swing from any chandeliers or run a triathlon like Shepard probably could but he's not made of glass. One can keep his limitations in mind without turning them into this huge obstacle. Really makes me want to see a fic where his partner tries to be so ridiculously careful that he eventually rolls his eyes, snarks at them, and then fucks them silly. And the partner is the one who ends up spraining something. (Unless of course it's EDI, not sure how her parts work...)

:( I don't really read much Joker fic but is all of it really that bad? I recall one or two with him and fShep in the cockpit, I promise not all ME writers treat the poor guy like glass.
