Some ground rules:

I'm with you there. Sometimes the nice guy bores even me and I prefer the bad boy as a character, but "s/he's boring" is so subjective it's never a good reason to suggest a person isn't good enough for someone else. If the girl honestly likes the nice guy and wants to be with him, obviously he isn't "boring" to her.

But then, I think I mix meta with treating the situation the way I would in real life.
