F!S Anon Meme (the Seventh, and now on DW!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff.

Any fans of comics here? Good series anyone's reading at the moment? Favorite heroes/characters? OTPs? Marvel or DC fan, and why? Or just not into superhero comics in general?

I'm usually a stringent DC fan, but I've currently been loving the heck out of Kieron Gillen's run on Thor and Journey into Mystery. Now I'm looking forward to reading more Marvel.(As well as throwing aside those silly comics universe/company biases I had.)

I mostly read superhero comics, primarily in DC or Marvel. Most of the titles on my pull list right now are DC, but most of the titles I'm thinking about are DC, so make of that what you will.

The comic I most look forward to every month though is Saga. I'm also really looking forward to the Sandman prequels next year -- Sandman was my the first comic I ever read. **sniff, wipes tear from eye**

I read manga, superhero, and indie, and recently I've gotten into webcomics. Currently I reading the archives of the webcomic Cucumber Quest and scans of Birds of Prey and the Dick/Damian Batman and Robin.

I'm definitely more of a DC person, with a particular lean towards the Batfamily and female and teen characters. My favorite characters right now are Kate Kane and Stephanie Brown, and I'll always have a spot in my heart for Bart Allen because Young Justice was the first superhero comic I ever read and he was my favorite in that series. I like Ultimate Spider-Man, Young Avengers, and Runaways from Marvel, though. I'll read almost anything with teen/young adult superheroes.

FUCK YEAH, THERE ARE! I love Vertigo best, I think (Sandman, Transmetropolitan, Hellblazer, Doom Patrol, Preacher, V for Vendetta, fuckin' Y the Last Man), but I love superhero comics as well. I was a Marvel girl for most of my life (Spidey! X-Men! Deadpool! Runaways!) but then I got reeeally heavily into Batman comics and the Teen Titans show and that got me into the Batfamily (the stories where they all have a part, like No Man's Land, tend to be my most enduring favourites). Now I juggle Marvel and DC.

I just got into Fables, years after the rest of the world, and am fucking hooked.

I love Batfamily dynamics so ridiculously much. I feel that anyone who just reads the 'classic' Batman stories (ie. DKR, Long Halloween, etc) is missing so much.

That's okay! In some old English scripts, s looks like f without the horizontal stroke :D

I think that the emotional spectrum is pretty much the greatest thing ever invented, and so all I read right now is New Guardians and Green Lantern.

Well, I also read Empowered, Hack/Slash, and PS238, but only one of them comes out monthly and I only read them in trades.

I'm an off-and-on comics purchaser. I've normally been a DC-only girl, mostly due to the fact that keeping track of Marvel canon is intimidating. But I've found most of the DCnU titles to be boring and I'm down to two books on my pull-list: Action Comics and Dial H for Hero. Batwoman and Batman are both pretty good but honestly, I think I might just be burned out on Batfamily, so I've dropped them temporarily.

The Avengers movie (and my Marvel-loving friends) have gotten me to read Marvel through TPBs; right now I'm working my way through Simonson's and JMS' runs on Thor and both are really excellent. I'm especially surprised at JMS since my first encounter with his comic book writing was through Superman: Grounded which was just awful. Like...I'm a little shocked that the same guy is behind both stories. :/

Not sure which Marvel character I'll look into next, but I'm leaning towards Captain America or Black Widow. Suggestions for must-read arcs would be greatly appreciated ;D

I am one of those 'I HAVE SEEN THE AVENGERS NOW I MUST READ ALL THE COMICS OH WAIT...WHERE SHOULD I START!?' Exactly that, in capslock.

I got stuck with Journey into Mystery because its awesome oh, and some Thor and Deadpool on the side. I am also happy it got mentioned here because ugh, I love these series so much.

Bandwagoner forever. :(

I'm normally strict Marvel fan, but I'm popping that cherry with Batwoman next week. It should arrive soon.

Marvel fan because, well, I like most of their characters. X-men, the avengers...I tend not to care for DC characters. Which is fun as one of ym coworkers is all DC DC and has a hat. I wore a Marvel hat for amusement once.

Fave characters? Jean Grey (tends to have shitty story lines), Tony Stark, Wolverine, Black Widow

I ship anything really, so good there
