Some ground rules:

This is the impression I have too. I was used to gimmick accounts through various other places when I was young, especially in chat rooms and instant messaging services, so I see accounts like trollometer and think "oh, it's not serious, okay :)" by instinct.

It's kind of role-playing too, so maybe that's another "if you haven't seen it long enough it doesn't make sense or you take it literally" factor.
