Some ground rules:

I feel this way about Korra because it's like they took a really interesting premise and drove it into a ditch.

Fuck the romance bullshit, I wanted to see the characters actually working toward a reasonable solution wrt the benders-nonbenders conflict.

OP, now wondering why all her shows have this problem. (Just started Korra. Should I bother finishing? :/ Is the fandom decent, at least?)

The first four episodes are great, but then it descends into a love triangley mess, the first-season finale is a copout that handwaves a major problem encountered by the protagonist and makes a legitimate issue magically disappear by removing a major player, Bolin's character pulls like a reverse Sokka where he becomes more incompetent and only good for humor over time, and in the previews for next season we already see Korra using the Avatar state for frivolous reasons. I'm not planning on picking it back up again, at least not until/unless I hear things have improved.

There are lots of cute Bolin/Korra and Korra/Asami fanarts out there on Tumblr. Don't really hang around any general discussion areas for the fandom, though.

The show would be much more interesting without the damn love triangle. Elena deserves so much better than to be fought over like an object.

Not hate as in 'I think she's a horrible person and should DIAF' but 'I think she didn't really have a good handle on what she was doing and was bad for the show and I'm glad she's moved on.'

I was this way with Heroes. Tim Kring had no business managing that kind of show and couldn't hold onto the quality writers. *whargarbl*

OP and I agree wholly. She was who I was thinking of primarily when I made this thread (but Moffat and RTD ranked as well).

So agreed. So glad she's gone. Newsflash, Gamble, this isn't the "focus only on Sam, Sam and Dean shouldn't have any friends but each other" show.
