[ Anon Meme ]
Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.
Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.
That's about it, though!
I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-30 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)I'm not saying Classic Who is bad, because it isn't at all. I like Classic Who. I just prefer New Who.
And really, it is totally and completely subjective anyway. It is all Doctor Who and all awesome. We just happen to prefer different eras.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-30 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)Zoe traveled with Two. She was brilliant and beautiful, and she saved the day more than once. More than that, though, she called out the bullshit of the men around her, and did so without being immediately smacked back into her place by the plot.
Liz was a brilliant scientist and a companion of the Third Doctor. Her departure, in part, marked what was probably the first time that the show itself acknowledged the way in which its premise limits the (overwhelmingly female) companions of the Doctor. She refused to just hold test tubes and tell the Doctor he was brilliant but knew that as long as she was working with this ludicrously advanced alien intelligence, that was the role she would be relegated to. She was succeeded by Jo, who might have been significantly better at the screaming and getting captured gig, but was also an escape artist whose skills helped the Doctor out of many, many jams.
That's just a few of the best companions of the first three Doctors. Shall I go on?

(Anonymous) 2012-07-30 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)I will have to check those out, though. They do sound awesome. But I don't think anyone will surpass Donna for me. I'll always prefer New Who for her if nothing else.

(Anonymous) 2012-07-31 08:14 am (UTC)(link)They clearly haven't watched all of it, but watched enough to not bother.
Relax that anus of yours. It's no insult or lie for them to get a different impression to you
