I loved the Katniss/Peeta stuff. But I thought the love triangle aspect was pretty annoying and was just there because apparently all YA books require a love triangle. The love triangle felt forced and not organic at all.

...I think this was the reason I've never read books 2 & 3, and probably won't. I disliked the idea of Katniss/Peeta (as an actual relationship), and when I heard that the love triangle entered into the series in the next books I just decided to check out after the first book.

Do read them if you can because the third book is so interesting, it really brings it all together. The relationship stuff is never a big deal in any of the books. i don't think Katniss is that interested in either of them to be honest.

bahahaha and see, I felt the total opposite. Katniss only ever seemed to feel about Peeta that she ~owed~ him for saving her life that one time, and then a few more times as the series went on; whenever he got romantic with her, she'd think about Gale and feel guilty in a way she couldn't explain. Peeta is a sweet guy but I could never get into him/K as a ship. It felt both unearned and almost obnoxiously cliche. And I thought there was more genuine spark and emotional depth when she was holding Gale's hand in her house in Catching Fire than pretty much everything that happened between her and Peeta in the whole series combined.

So yeah, I also thought the triangle felt forced, but in the opposite way. Different strokes!

Honestly, I didn't realise there was meant to be a love triangle until people were "ITS TOTES A LOVE TRIANGLE'

So...I guess if I tilt my head...but...idk, she wasn't exactly in a relationship with either, they both backed off to give her space as she thought about it, they had a convo where they decided to let her try.

I guess I didn't see the love triangle since the "love" itself was generally just confused feelings and PTSD dependance (IMO obvs)
