Did I just get scammed?

(Anonymous) 2012-08-06 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I just bought a piece of jewelry off this site http://www.thomassaboberlocker.eu -- but when I receive the receipt I see the seller has a Chinese name (despite the website being in Swedish). I remember reading about this designer having problems with bootleg items in China, so now I'm worried that that's what I just paid for.

Does anyone know? Or perhaps can use some google-fu to help me figure it out? I'm pretty upset about this, NGL :(

The site I posted at the bottom says:

"Official online stockists have all agreed with Thomas Sabo not to use the designer’s name in the main part of their web address. That means they won’t ever use the designer’s name between the ‘www’ and the ‘.com’ or ‘.co.uk’ part of their web address. The only valid exception to the rule is Thomas Sabo’s own, official website, easily recognisable as www.thomassabo.com."

It also gives a link to ask Thomas Sabo's main website when in doubt. I hope it's not a scam. :( Good luck.

Yeah, it's definitely fake then. Goddammit, am I even gonna get an item at all -- however crappy and bootleg-y -- or did they just steal my money outright? And I guess I can forget about PayPal helping me with this...

I would definitely call Paypal. Maybe get proof from the main Thomas Sabo site that the one you bought from is not a verified seller. I really hope you get your money back. :(
