I don't think the OP is invalidating my language skills. I think the OP and other anon are being ignorant in calling an entire language's grammar simple. And I think that lack of basic understanding and monolithic claim is something that deserves to be called out.

In all seriousness, what's wrong with their comma placement? Since it's not dialog, and the quotes are around a specific phrase that doesn't include the comma as part of it, shouldn't it be on the outside of the quotes?

In typical American English usage, the comma goes inside of the quotation marks. I've seen it typically used outside of the quotation marks in British-English, however. So really I'm just being an asshole and probably ethnocentric or something. Meh.

Honestly, in the case of non-dialog quotes, it feels like the British-English usage just makes more sense (since you're specifically referring to a word and/or phrase, and the punctuation isn't a set part of that phrase) and it oddly bothers me that it's incorrect.
